Speciality
Painting.
Inside and out: we paint walls and ceilings and finish woodwork, from window frames and doors to staircases, skirting and panelling. For exterior painting in Amsterdam, we select a paint system suited to the substrate. We also take on facade work. We regularly work in listed buildings and canal houses, and advise on colour and sheen.

Colour and sheen advice
We advise on colour and sheen, matched to the room, the light it gets and the character of the building.
Period properties
In a canal house we painted the walls and ceilings around the existing beams, and finished the door posts, doors and frames. We advise on colour and sheen level, tailored to the room, the light and the character of the property.

Good to know
What does the price depend on?
Painting work does not come down to a single figure. These are the six things that make the difference, and we set them out per element in the quote.
The condition of the surface
Paint only bonds to a surface that is sound. Loose layers, old paint systems or damp call for extra preparation. You will not see that work later, but it decides how long the result lasts.
The size of the job
More square metres or more elements means more hours. Work we can schedule in one go costs less per element than separate jobs spread across the year.
The number of coats
A colour change from dark to light, or timber that has never been treated, needs an extra coat. The quote states how many coats we apply per element.
The paint system
We choose per surface. A more expensive system is often cheaper over ten years, because it lasts longer and needs less maintenance. During the survey we explain why we recommend something.
Access
Work at height, on a canal or on a narrow pavement calls for scaffolding, a cherry picker or a permit. That counts towards the price and the schedule.
Inside or outside
Exterior work is sensitive to weather and drying times and needs more preparation. Interior work we can schedule all year round.
